Fishing: the water around Zihuanejo have been famed for the abundance and variety of small and big game fish, from sailfish and Marlin to dorado, rooster fish, mackerel, bonito, yellow fin tuna, Wahoo. Many of these are available all year around.

Golf: the 18-hole Ixtapa Gold Course was designed by Robert Trend Jones. Rolling expanses of fair ways and greens are rimmed by tall coconut palms and dotted with water holes and three blue lakes; the final green are right on the edge of the ocean, it is also a wild reserve with a variety of birds and some alligators in the lakes.

The new golf course at Marina Ixtapa is an 18-hole course that has already been rated as one of Mexico 's top courses by golf digest. At both golf courses there are packages available.

Scuba Diving: there are around 30 different places to dive in the area, they include deep dives in canyons or drift dives along the reefs there is a wide variety of sea life and a very good visibility.

Tennis: there is tennis court facilities at villa del sol, 50 yards walking down the street from the hotel casa Buenaventura .

Horse back riding: there are horses to ride at playa larga. The do one hour rides or the special for 2 hours trough the lagoons, beach and ocean. You can admire here while you ride all the vast vegetation including mangroves and all kind of tropical trees with different types of birds sitting on them.

Water sports: La Ropa Beach is ideal for water-skiing and windsurfing, also in front of "La Perla Restaurant" you can contact services like parasailing, wave runners, banana rides and sailing in catamarans.

Kayaking: You can do ocean kayaking in the bay of Zihuatanejo from La Perla Restaurant on la Ropa Beach or take the most recommended kayak tour guide by the professional and bilingual Brian Roach, expert in birds and tropical plants and fruits idenfitications. Throught the scenic and extensive mangrove reserve of Laguna de Potosi and San Valentin.

Snorkeling: Besides "Las Gatas Beach" and Ixtapa Island. We have behind "La Ropa beach" hills the most beautiful spot for snorkeling,: Manzanillo beach is an unspoiled beach ideal for snorkeling and collecting shells on the beach, only area you will find the reefs with live coral, octopus, fishes in different colors and cat sharks with no teeth that normally you wath then sleeping in the bottom laying on the sand.
